At Safari A.M we love creating custom safaris based on our guests’ specific desires. We build our itineraries around their needs. Getting the “big five” is our most popular request, but some people would much rather take pictures of a lilac-breasted roller in flight than a lion on a kill. Our guests have traveled thousands of kilometers for the vacation of a lifetime, we will do whatever we can to make sure they fall in love with Tanzania.

GAME DRIVES

A game drive is an adventure that entails viewing wildlife in the comfort of an open 4×4 which accommodates up to 6 people, a sure way to give you that classical safari feeling. Safari game drives are one of the most popular ways to see wildlife in the National Parks of Tanzania.

ACCOMODATIONS

We organize our adventures with a wide range of accommodations from ground camping safaris, wild camp safaris, lodges, or hotels to high-end tented lodge safaris. We match the accommodations to our guests’ desires, and to their specific budget. We can create an experience where you can wake to the sounds of animals foraging outside your tent, or relaxing in your luxury suite with a chilled bottle of champagne. It‘s up to you.

People and Culture

Tanzanian culture is a delightful mix of influences with over 120 different tribes (most of them from the Bantu family), each tribe has their own language and they are all connected by one language (Swahili). Tanzania is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. From the tall graceful Maasai warriors, the ancient ways of the Hadzabe (bushmen), the resourceful agricultural practices of the Wameru, the artistic talents of the Makonde to the Chaga farmers and traders. Each of the 120 different tribes in Tanzania have their own distinct ways of life but together, they gracefully unite to form Tanzania.

 Verified More than a safari- a holistic adventure
I went on two day Safari with Ally- 1 day Tarangire and 1 day Ngorongoro Crater with an overnight stay in a lovely lodge nearby. The number of animals we have seen was amazing. Ally is a great sighter and has a lot of experience where to go to see which animals. His knowledge about the animals is fantastic and he is very flexibel with where to go and for me to stop whenever I asked for it - he also shared my excitement for less common animals which might not be on the usual tourist list. You could feel his over 20 year experience and the love for the animals and their environment. This was more than a Safari. Ally's knowledge spans also a lot of history of Tansania and the National Parks as well as for geology and for the cultural heritage. I could ask him any question and we had interesting discussions during the long drive back to the hotel which he did with the same care as driving through the parks. I appreciate his mindfulness and openess and thoughfulness. This was more than spotting animals, this was a holostic adventure

During our holidays, my girlfriend and I had the opportunity to visit Tanzania and its wonderful National Parks. We were guided by Ally which showed us the most amazing animals of Africa. But aboveall, he was able to transmit us his passion for his work.  Verified Great Safari Guide with good sense of humor
Had a Safari in 2018 for Ngorogoro, Serengeti and Tarangire. Such a great time an perfect picks for photo locations with the big five. Also great as a local guide around Moshi. My first safari so can’t compare. I would recommend though for all the fun and exiting time I had :-) thanks.

 Verified Amazing Safari Experience!!
Ally Mtemvu was our guide for about 4 days after we had climbed Kilimanjaro in 2012. Needless to say, we wanted to see as much as we could without all the hiking we had done the week prior! Ally made sure we got from spot to spot, hotel to hotel, quickly and safely. He got us right up on as many of the animals known to the Ngorongoro Crater as possible by connecting with other guides throughout the day. Extremely knowledgeable. One of the highlights of our honeymoon in Tanzania was the exceptional safari experience provided by Ally. We quickly came to appreciate how his knowledge of the animals and the national parks were vital to deciding where and when to go to increase the odds of seeing the most we could. One of the many tools in his toolbox was contacting other trusted guides during the day to swap intel on animal sightings. He is very knowledgeable on local flora as well and we learned a great deal through his explanations of what we were seeing. Even before our African safari, Ally was very accommodating, offering us park, hotel and location options. It was a 'bespoke' tour, designed around our specific interests. We traveled across northern Tanzania and back again, staying at breathtaking parks along the way.
